If you asked me to think of the worst thing someone could say to me, this would be it:
"Hmm, you've picked up a bit of weight, haven't you? You're looking rather...matronly."
Yes, someone said that to me this weekend. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
Matronly. Shall I stick pins in my eyes now or later?
Needless to say, I haven't managed to lose those 11kg of which I spake. I asked Father Christmas for a Pilates dvd and bless him, he gave it to me. I tried the exercises once, caused all my muscles to go into spasm and never cracked the box open again. Because I'm resolute like that.
When I was going through hell, the weight just fell off. And then when I was no longer in hell, it all came running back. Damn. So apparently all I have to do to lose weight is to throw my life down the toilet. Easy peasy.
That 'matronly' comment has me almost motivated enough to crack open the Pilates dvd box again. Almost. I'll keep you posted...
Blimmen heck... that's a terrible thing to tell anyone! I'd have been very tempted to slap that person!

I can't believe the gall of that person to actually say that to you! Unbelievable... like saying something like that is in any way helpful or supportive.
